Academic Qualification

Duration of the Programme

The ND/HND Nursing is a four-year CONTINUOUS programme i.e 2 years for ND and 2          years for HND. Students starts with ND Nursing programme which is a non-terminal            programme. The ND Nursing graduates with minimum CGPA of 2.5 (Lower Credit) will       then proceed for HND Nursing. Indexing shall be at the beginning of first semester of ND           II. Students shall participate in Supervised Clinical Work Experience (SCWE) during the    programme. The SCWEs would be in two parts of eight weeks each. The first part of SCWE     shall be between the end of ND I, while the second part shall be between the end of ND II.          Stipend for SCWE shall be paid through Industrial Training Fund (ITF). The SCWE shall     be graded on a pass or fail basis. Where a student has satisfied all other requirements of the             programme BUT FAILED SCWEs, he/she may only be allowed to repeat another four      months SCWEs at his/own expenses.

Academic Departments

General Nursing:  This is a 3years, 6 semesters basic nursing programme, approved by NMCN. It is designed  to train students on practical nursing skills and gives them the knowledge and clinical experience they need to become a Registered Nurse.

Basic Midwifery:  It is designed to train students on practical midwifery skills and gives them the knowledge  and clinical experience they need to become a Registered Midwife (RM).

Deferment of Admission:  A student shall be granted deferment on request if it is duly approved. Such approval shall   last for a maximum period of one academic year. However, such student must have passed  the probation examination and completed indexing and payment of school fees.

 Cancellation/Withdrawal of Admission: Any student who gained admission into the College without the minimum entry requirement or through fraudulent means stands to forfeit his/her admission and such shall be made to withdraw from training without refunds. 

Students Union Government:  The college runs a Students Union Government which is under the supervision of the    Students’ Affairs Office. Membership of the union and participation in all union activities           is open to all students irrespective of tribe, race and religion. Any student seeking to contest          for any position must be verified by the Dean Students Affairs on the basis of school fees         and CGPA. Such student should also obtain security clearance and of good conduct. The        Dean Students of Affairs shall oversee the election with security cover. The union leaders   are responsible to the College authority via the Dean Students of Affairs. All activities of            the union shall have approval from the of The Provost before implementation. The       constitution of the union must have approval from the College authority before its         implementation.
